Notes/Thoughts:
Unlocked is the prequel to Scalzi's new novel that comes out at the end of the month called Lock In, and I really enjoyed it. It peaked my interest in the novel and was much different then the first chapter snipped for the book. This novella really reminded me of World War Z, strongly, but not in a bad way - it was very cool to read about it like how this was.
It's been three months since I started The Name of the Wind so I'm happy and relieved I've finally finished it. It was so good and has gorgeous writing, but it wasn't a book I could get through quickly - and just because it's 700+ pages.

Day One Wrap-Up
Goals/TBR
Wow, sounds like you're doing great with your reading goals this week!! Keep it up. I've already finished Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote and am hoping to reach the halfway point for The Son by Philipp Meyer (it's almost 600 pages in length) later today.
ReplyDeleteI've also had fun with the daily challenges and posting comments here and there on other blogs.
Thanks! It's definitely been a really good week so far. :)
DeleteHope you get there today! I've never heard of that book, The Son, are you enjoying it?
I haven't really participated in more then the scavenger hunt one, but I've been enjoying seeing everyone else's entries and really enjoying seeing it all. It's so much fun.
