Bout of Books 11: Day One Wrap-Up

Day one of the Bout of Books 11 read-a-thon! And it was a pretty great day, personally, and I actually took part in one of the challenges, which I don't know if I've ever done. It was the book scavenger hunt and you were suppose to post on Instagram (my post) and it was super cute. Heres the blog post explaining it, even though I think it was just a day one thing.

Also one thing I totally forgot to mention in my goals post is - I'd like to leave comments every day on people's blog posts. Not the same people and not a certain number, but I'm really bad at leaving comments and I've been getting better at it. It's still one of my goals, though, because I'll forget if I don't try and remind myself (I'm going to have to write myself a note, I just know it).

Number of Books Completed Today: 2

Books (all from today):
Mortal Danger (Immortal Games #1) by Ann Aguirre (continued - 255 pages)
Lola and the Boy Next Door (Anna and the French Kiss #2) by Stephanie Perkins (started and finished - 338 pages)

Number of Page Read Today: 593 pages

Notes/Thoughts:
Mortal Danger - I really enjoyed and the more I think about it, the more I liked it. I finished it pretty early in the day and, writing this later, I might forgive it that half star and just give it the full 5/5, because the problems I had with it were so small and it was so - different.

I didn't actually plan to start and finish Lola and the Boy Next Door today, because I'd already finished a book today. But then I kind of thought - why the hell not, and picked it up, knowing I probably wouldn't put it down until I was finished with it (and I was just about right with that).

How did your first day of this read-a-thon go? Did you join in on the chat? And what are you currently-reading (participating or not)? I'm curious!

  1. My first day went pretty well. Here's My Day 1 Recap. I didn't join the chat, I don't do Twitter. Currently I am reading Blackbirdy by Anna Carey (blah) and Cursed by Benedict Jacka.

    1. Isn't Blackbird that book in second person that's coming out? I'm sorry to hear you're not enjoying it - but second person is very, very hit or miss, at least for me personally, I think I've only read, I think, one thing in second person and it wasn't a full novel. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts when you're done - are you going to be doing a review?

  2. Sounds like you're doing great in this round of Bout of Books!! Two books finished is awesome!! I finished Truman Capote's Breakfast at Tiffany's and started listening to the unabridged audio version of The Son by Philipp Meyer.... I'm only 3 cds into this audiobook. I spent 6 hours, 20 minutes reading which is pretty good.

    1. I kind of wish I could keep track of how long I spend reading, but it's just too complicated when physically reading.
It's sounds like you're doing pretty well so far, yourself, if you've already finished something! :) And the challenges always look like so much fun.
